Hlong24
Hello! I’m a pre PA student, and I’m currently a CNA, but would like to get better experience in the medical field. I would love to be a MA, but I’m worried most of the jobs are an 8-5 kind of job, which would make it hard to find time for classes I think. Are there certain areas of work that have 12 hour shifts, or something more flexible than an 8-5 shift?
FromMic2Meds
Hey @Hlong24 idk where you’re located but I work at an urgent care in NYC where the MAs do work a variety of shifts of either 6/9/12 hours

PineappleHead
I work as an MA in an ortho practice, and the shifts are pretty flexible. A number of my coworkers are also nursing students or completing nursing pre-reqs and are able to balance working. Some days I'll do a 12 hour shift, and most days I work either a morning or afternoon shift.
