I received an acceptance call last week!!! I interviewed on 01/17. The wait is the toughest part. My fingers are crossed for the rest of y’all!

I’m a current first year PA student at USA, as well. We only have 1 veteran and 1 other active/reserves student...so I don’t know that they are “reserved” necessarily...not sure. But they’re moving up

Slowest. Friday. Ever.

Has anyone heard from 2/14 interview or contacted admissions on a status?

I haven’t heard anything. I know another interviewee is needing to know soon for moving purposes. I recommended he email pastudies. That’s all I know

I’m sorry if you received one of those! [emoji53]

It’s how the cookie crumbles. I was hopeful but it’s alright. I accepted a spot at another great school. Hope you all get accepted and we unknowingly grab a beer someday as PAs!

Although South hasn't sent us anything yet regarding the Coronavirus, does anyone know if other schools are still scheduled to begin in-person in May? South's current didactic students are learning online for now

I sent them an email since I was curious about it too, Mrs. Perine said that they are still planning to start on May 18.

      Hey guys!
My husband is in the Navy and he JUST got orders to Mississippi for March 2020. I also JUST got a new job where we are located at right now. I’m also a new grad PA, so I plan on doing the long distance thing for several months (ugh) so that I can say that I’ve got a year of experience on my resume.
Can anyone tell me what the job market is like in Mississippi (specifically Gulfport/Biloxi)?
Is the job market better in Alabama? Should I focus on getting my license there instead, or Mississippi? It’s an hour drive to Mobile.
What’s the licensing process like for Mississippi? I heard the medical board has to interview you. What is that like?

      thank you!

      Hello fellow aspiring PA students,
I was a 2018-2019 Samford PA applicant, and I found that a forum like this was very helpful last year. I thought I would go ahead and get a forum started for this application cycle. This is for anyone wanting to talk/ask questions about Samford's PA program for the 2019-2020 application cycle. I was waitlisted, and haven't heard anything back from them, but I would assume they already have solidified the seats for their very first cohort. Samford is a beautiful campus, and the faculty were a pleasure to be around during my interview, and as far as I am concerned they are my program of choice this application cycle. The application process can be cumbersome, so feel free to discuss and ask questions or give updates.
      Godspeed!

A discussion within the school's forum history at "Pre-PA--> Physician Assistant Schools--> Alabama--> University of South Alabama" has been created. Please see posts there since I'm unsure how to delete this topic. Thanks!

Just applied for University of South Alabama today, still need to complete and send in the supplemental application.  Has anyone else applied?

This school seems to be very veteran friendly, so I'm hoping that I may have a good chance at getting an interview.
