Congrats! I also received an invite for 9/12 this afternoon. Do you have advice on how to prepare based on your first interview experience?

Congrats! When did you submit your app if you don’t mind me asking?

I submitted in mid-June and they sent me an email saying they received it on 7/6. Hope this helps!

Received an interview invite for 9/12 too! I’m planning on flying in on 9/10 if anyone wanted to meet up to grab coffee or food!

Hi! I was definitely nervous the first time around and did not feel like I interviewed my best or showed my personality. Seriously, just relax. The staff were all super nice and they all had different set questions that they would ask you. See you there!

Yay, congrats! From what I've gathered, last year's format was 3 individual interviews if that helps!

I realize that this is not the typical question, but a college professor recently commented to another student during class that a 4.0 GPA is more detrimental than 3.8 on a PA application because "they'll assume you're a perfectionist, and no one wants to teach a perfectionist". Is this legit?
My goal in my classes has been to learn the material well so I have a solid foundation to draw from in the future when I am treating patients. I am maintaining a 4.0 GPA with a full-time course load and without sacrificing sleep or a life. I was taught to work hard for my passions and I enjoy delving deeper into subjects that interest me personally, so I'm a bit taken aback by my professor's comment.

      Hello All,

I hope you are doing well. I was just curious if anyone has run into the same issue with shadowing that i am in currently. So, unfortunately I dont have the connections to other PAs like some people do, so this leads to having to go above and beyond to try to find PAs to shadow. I finally found one that is willing to take me on that doesn't currently have PA students with them (I go to Gannon University and I live close to Mercyhurst University, which both have PA programs), however, they want me to pay $50 per shadowing visit. I have never heard of anything like this before. Is this normal to pay $50/per shadow experience? Or is this just a UPMC thing. Is it worth it? Or should i keep trying to find other facilities that dont require such.
