Touro Nevada 2019/20 Applicants

Recommended Posts

Anybody in the same boat at me? I’m getting a little nervous and starting to think the long wait may be just a delayed rejection. Submitted June 21st, verified June 27th, submitted my supplemental July 3rd and haven't heard anything since. Thoughts?

In the very same boat as you! I did call the other day because I was getting super antsy and they said my application was still under review.

Here’s my timeline for reference: I submitted my CASPA application on July 16, submitted the supplemental on August 4, received interview invitation on August 26, and interviewed September 26.

I believe they’re doing interviews from August through October (unless you’re in their MHS program), and I was told they have about 10 interview sessions and roughly 200 candidates total.

There’s still a chance you could be invited to interview 🙂

Wishing you the best of luck!

I received my interview invitation today, so to those of you that haven't heard back yet, there's still a chance! 🙂

Congratulations!! When did you submit your app?

Hello!

I have an interview on 10/17. The address I got in my email is 874 American Pacific Dr Henderson, NV  89014. Is there a certain building to go to for the interview to those that have had an interview already. I tried emailing Kimberly but have not heard back. All the help is super appreciated!

You go to the front of the building and go to the security desk and sign in. The other interviewees should be in the lobby right behind the desk.

Is the last interview date 10/31?

The website states that interviews conclude in November, but due to rolling admissions and volume of applicants, seats may be filled prior to the stated deadline(s). I did not personally see any interview dates available after 10/31. I would guess they'll get through this round of interviews before opening up November's schedule (pure speculation). Best wishes to you!

Thanks you so much with providing me this information!  I wish the best to you too and good luck with your interview!

Just received an email stating I was put on the waitlist for the class of 2022.

CASPA submitted July 16

Supplemental submitted August 4

Interview invite received August 26

Interviewed September 26

Waitlisted October 17

Does anyone know the odds of being taken off the waitlist? Trying to stay positive 🙂

If its any relief, there haven't been people here that posted that they got in. They have a large class of 80, so maybe they're trying to get through most of their interviews first. I can't remember if the students I talked to during my interview had mentioned that a good number of them got off the waitlist.

Good luck!

Hi all! I'm a current Touro student... at least until I graduate in fewer than two weeks. 😉 I've tried to make a point to swing by and say hello during the interview days, so if you remember some creepy dude making acerbic remarks prior to your one-on-one interviews then maybe we've met.

So, a few things to keep in mind. The class everyone is interviewing for has 80 slots. Your cohort will be the largest one yet in our program. Don't worry about how many spots have been filled. i.e. the odds are in your favor if you've made it through the interview process. Recently, I was talking to some of the people in our program and the numbers were somewhere around 160-200 total people will be interviewed for those 80 slots. With a class that size I really would not be surprised to see quite a few students pulled from the waitlist. My guess--and I can't emphasize guess enough--is recent interviewees will start getting phone calls the first week of November for acceptance. You have to remember how busy things are in the program at the moment. Interviews should be wrapping up on October 31st. Second year students start clinical rotations on November 1st. My class graduates November 3rd. So, really, as hard as it is at this point, try to be patient.

I submitted my app on August 16th and just got my interview invitation yesterday. I am scheduled to go on October 31st.

I'm also interviewing on 10/31, got invited 10/16! So far it's my only scheduled interview. Still waiting to hear back from 7 other schools. I've heard Touro's interviews are pretty laid back, but is the dress code still pretty strict? Suit/blazer+skirt and white shirt? Are people taking anything, like portfolios? What would you put in it, a copy for your app? Notepad?

Please dress up still. The nature of the interviews are friendly and conversational, but please do dress professionally. You may bring notes and portfolios if you wish.

Sorry, wasn't trying to imply not dressing up, just trying to figure out how uniform the dress code is. I've dressed for business events and interviews before, but I've seen in some PA forums that shirts under coats/blazers must be white, and I wasn't sure how accurate that was. Just trying to plan ahead.

I think it's pretty standard outfit. Tbh though, I didn't really look too closely at the other interviewees' attire.

Good luck!

I would say just wear a suit, a nice blouse and nice shoes. Doesn't have to be a white shirt. I have been to one interview so far at another school. People mostly wore black or navy suits with white, black, or blue shirts. No need to take a portfolio. I brought a notebook to take notes during info sessions. I saw some people bring purses and other people didn't bring anything at all. Don't worry too much about all the small stuff!

So, I assume that means that any of us who have not even heard anything will most likely not be receiving an interview if interviews are wrapping up next week?
