That is the burning question... Since invites have gone out for 3/3 interview dates, are we to assume that the rest of us are getting rejected? I wish I knew more about their review process - whether they send invites as they are working through applications, or if they review all applications first and then send out invites en masse? I feel like if the latter is the case, it would be easy enough to just send out a mass email to the reject-ees so we're not left in the dark. I'm trying to be patient and think positively; it's not a "no" until it's a "no".

Congratulations to those who have been accepted and/or received invites!

I applied here last year and found out on 10/29 that I had not been selected for an interview. Based on invites having already gone out for the 3 dates, I'm preparing for the worst at this point.

CASPA submitted 8/30/19, Supplemental submitted 9/5/19. Definitely procrastinated but spent a lot of time tuning the supplemental essays.

Nope, no interview. Just got an email saying they had a competitive pool of over 1800 applicants  this year for only 60 spots.

Just received an interview offer earlier today for November 9th! I find this odd since I know they already sent out offers for the last interview date.

Timeline for reference: I submitted (and verified) my CASPA app on 7/13/19, Pacific U confirmed this on 8/6/19. I submitted my secondary on 9/5/19 and Pacific U confirmed it on 9/6/19. Interview offer e-mail received on 10/16/19 for 11/9/2019.

Anyone else on that date coming from the Bay Area? 🙂

Thanks for the timeline! Good luck at the interview, still hoping to hear back soon for myself.

This is not entirely to get your hopes up because I can not 100% definitely confirm this information, but it is information I would like to share to boost the postitivity on this page! Plus you all are such amazing applicants. This is just what I heard during my interview day, but again I can not 100% confirm.

For every interview date, there is a morning and an afternoon interview session depending on how many applicants the admissions committee feels they would like to interview. This information opens up the pool for a lot more applicants to be interviewed each day if necessary.

You also have to keep in mind that though you may think all the invites have been sent out for every day, there are so many applicants who are applying to so many programs and there is a great chance that by the time an interview date rolls around, people have decided to decline attending this interview and have been accepted else where. This will continue to open up spots for other applicants to interview. So you have to be positive! You may not have an invite today, but maybe next week someone drops out and you are next in line. You just never know and can never anticipate how these committees work behind the scenes.

I have no doubt you all will make incredible providers no matter where fate decides you should gain your education!
Best of luck to all of you! Just know, I'm right there with you still in the waiting game.

There were two questions that basically boiled down to 1) Why Pacific? and 2) How has your patient care experience prepared you to be a future PA?

Hope that helps! 🙂

I got an interview invite today for the November 9 date. So I am assuming that slots open up as people decline/cancel their interview since I wasn't initially sent an invite. So don't give up hope! I was shocked to get the invite since I also thought they were done sending invites!

Would you mind sharing some of your stats? I haven't heard anything back yet so I guess it could either way. Just trying to get an idea of where I stand.

I will be attending on the 9th as well! I am thinking about coming up a day early to explore!

Well, I’m officially out of the running for Pacific. I received my rejection via email earlier today.

I app was verified in May. I had a lower BCP GPA at 3.42  I also had around 6,000 hour of PCE from various roles

Best of luck to everyone!

Has anyone had any luck with changing their interview dates? In the interview invitation email, it says "Other dates may be available upon request". I was hoping to switch my interview to the 9th of Nov. instead of the 27th if a spot were to become available since I have been accepted to a program that starts in January and I would like to receive an admission decision sooner than later. Thanks in advance!

I emailed Leah and she was able to get me in sooner to the Nov. 9th date. I would email her and see if she could put you on a waitlist for a spot on the 9th!

I thought I’d start this since I didn’t see any posts about this application cycle yet. Has anyone heard back besides the normal “we received your application” email?

I realize that this is not the typical question, but a college professor recently commented to another student during class that a 4.0 GPA is more detrimental than 3.8 on a PA application because "they'll assume you're a perfectionist, and no one wants to teach a perfectionist". Is this legit?
My goal in my classes has been to learn the material well so I have a solid foundation to draw from in the future when I am treating patients. I am maintaining a 4.0 GPA with a full-time course load and without sacrificing sleep or a life. I was taught to work hard for my passions and I enjoy delving deeper into subjects that interest me personally, so I'm a bit taken aback by my professor's comment.
