PA Scope of Practice- What Qualifies as a Supervising Physician?

Recommended Posts

It is my understanding that PA's work alongside MD's and DO's in many settings, but does the DO qualify as being a supervising physician or is that solely a role fulfilled by an MD?

Also, it is becoming increasingly common that ND's obtain an unrestricted medical license and become PCP's. Can a PA work with an ND in a PCP setting?

Any information is appreciated.

A PA can work with an MD/DO and in some states a podiatrist. There are no states that allow a PA to work with an ND or DC.

Most NDs are limited in their RX rights to only medicines of natural origin. no synthetic products.
