Addiction Medicine

Recommended Posts

I have only been working in this specialty for a couple of months and this is my first PA job.  I like that I feel like I'm really making a difference in my community and in people's lives in so many different ways- not just medical, but with things like making it possible for people to remain employed, get custody of their children, work on their mental health, lower the crime rate, etc.  I work with great people- it seems like people who go into this field are people who really care.  With the implementation of the Substance Use Disorder Workforce Loan Repayment Program, I am hoping to get help with my student loan debt.  I also like the routine nature of the work.

I am concerned about the narrow focus, so I am trying to keep up with studying other areas of medicine so I don't get rusty on everything else.
