Alternate list....what are my chances of getting in? Any advice?

I have just received my letter stating I have been chosen as an alternate for the school I applied to...any advice for this process? Any idea if anyone actually gets accepted from the waitlist? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated

Your best information will come from the school itself.  They will know how big their wait list is and where you are on that list.  They'll also know how many folks typically actually get seats.  Many people apply to multiple schools and if they are good enough applicants to be accepted at one school they are often accepted at several.  This is what leads to folks being accepted off wait lists.

My best friend in PA school got accepted of the alternate list on the Friday before school started and drove 2000 miles to get there. The program where I teach always ends up with several from the alternate list.

Alternative lists not only represent great candidates but people who meet the criteria. Not everyone who is accepted on the first session chooses to attend that school but represents a Program Hope List. You Go Long mentioned that you should keep the faith. I did that everytime I jumped from an airplane and always had a reserve chute. Remember there are other schools and the most important part of your education is what you put into it.

A lot of us in the "Professional PA Forum" are several years removed from the school application process.

I was accepted off the waitlist to my current program. It's a process you just have to wait out. The only advice I would give is update if you're accruing HCE/PCE. It will keep your name fresh in their mind.
