ealeyrer
My application was verified at the beginning of July, however, CASPA changed my grade level each semester to make my one transcript look like I have three semesters of freshman year, sophomore year, and junior year. When I reached out to CASPA I was told that the changes were made to show that I transferred schools and never got a degree. I separately calculated my GPA for each year and my GPA goes up however with this change it looks like my GPA goes down each year instead. I was told that changes would be made back to what they should be however they have not. I reached out to each school in July when I realized it to make them aware and I have contacted CASPA multiple times. The last time I spoke with CASPA (yesterday) I was told that the verification team probably will not change my transcript back even though they should have never changed it. Back when I first talked to someone in July I was told that they could change it however that apparently was not the case. I feel like this problem will affect my chances of getting into PA school because most programs that I applied to look at my GPA each year to see if there is an increase. I have had nothing but problems with CASPA and I feel like I am stuck. Is there anything else that I can do/has anyone else had any problems and how did you fix it? Do your transcripts have dates on them? Because if they have dates on them the admissions committee will be able to see that each year you improved. Paperbae
I actually had a different issue with CASPA incorrectly changing grade information I had entered (this resulted in my grades being listed incorrectly and GPAs calculated much lower). While not the same exact issue, I understand your frustration at their unwillingness to correct the problem. I went through the same process of CASPA saying they would correct the information and then going back on that and saying they wouldn't be able to do so. I would recommend that if you won't have peace of mind until it is corrected, to call and call and call. It may seem obnoxious, but this is your personal professional opportunity and you don't want academic misrepresentation to hold you back. I called maybe two times a day for two weeks and eventually I was able to speak with a supervisor at CASPA and have my changes made. It turned out to be more of an issue of my problem not being relayed to the correct people versus CASPA not wanting to make the changes. Be persistent!
