Jankr
I am currently working in an orthopedic practice and coming up on 1 yr here. Trying to figure out what seems like a fair raise. Have been a PA 3 yrs - prior experience as a hospitalist and urgent care Currently I am getting $102,5003 weeks vacation 401k - they will start matching at my 1 yr Mark 1500 cme Was going to ask for 2%-3% raise .. seems like a typical cost of living raise which would put me around 104,550 - 105,574 I had originally asked for $105,00 when I was hired so I don't think they'd be surprised by this request. I feel like I'm doing well here and everyone seems happy with my performance. Should I ask for more, less, more vacation? For context I'm on the east coast. Just outside the city. Thanks!! SedRate
If your original negotiation was for $105k, don't ask for it again. Come in at $108k+. If they decline, ask for COL raise and more CME ($2000). If they decline, ask for another day or two of PTO.
PACJD
3 years under your belt, 1 year in ortho, i would ask for 110k tbh... i know folks in ortho in NYC that are making 100k out of school + a productivity bonus structure which averages out to another 10-15k... i think 110k is fair given your experience and lack of bonus structure. NYC is a much higher cost of living area. I'm in the Baltimore area so I'm not sure they'd be willing to make that high a jump but it's worth considering. Id ask for 10 %. thats 3% COL increase with a 7 % actual raise...if your in good standing with the practice
