jmj11 Posted August 3, 2018 This popped up on my news tonight. I hope this is rare. http://www.gainesville.com/news/20180802/physician-assistant-at-williston-clinic-accused-of-embezzlement
Reality Check 2 Posted August 3, 2018 He looks rough and worn and not entirely well. Pretty sad when you start pawning clinic equipment. Gambling debt? Drug habit? Bad at investing? Bad choices, bad outcome.
mgriffiths Posted August 3, 2018 Especially when the estimation is "over $1,000." Maybe that's just the threshold from petty theft to grand theft or whatever the terms are, but that's such a paltry amount for what PAs make.
cbrsmurf Posted August 3, 2018 We all know how he ended up this way: Not enough HCE prior to becoming a PA.
sas5814 Posted August 3, 2018 I was thinking drinking too much because of Press-Ganey scores and patient satisfaction surveys.
AbeTheBabe Posted August 3, 2018 Quote Long admitted to police that he took money from the office to use for gas and his gambling habit. Gas prices are on the rise, I can understand where he is coming from.
jmj11 Posted August 4, 2018 Author I probably shouldn't have posted this, as I hate to kick someone when they are down, yet I was a bit befuddled.
CAdamsPAC Posted August 4, 2018 Would this have happened if his title was Physician Associate or completed a Residency, or held a CAQ? Do you think he was trying to compete with an NP. See what having a Master's did for him? He should have earned a PhD!!
surgblumm Posted August 7, 2018 It's unfortunate but it happens and sometimes to the best of PAs. We don't know of the situation first hand therefore it is easy to be an armchair quarterback but this could be ny one of us and his age is married to professional rejection. Remember one small thing; when you are pointing your finger at somebody, there are three fingers pointing back at you. Try it!
