kass08
I am currently in the process of negotiating a position for a NICU PA and a bit surprised at what I have been offered. Before counter offering and negotiating I was curious what others typically get in regard to vacation, etc. This is what I have been offered: Vacation: 3 weeks CME: $1500 No CME days. No sick days. No holidays. Also I have to have $250000 for car insurance and liability? Has anyone ever encountered that?

Moderator EMEDPA Posted March 28, 2012 Moderator Share Posted March 28, 2012 3 Weeks is about avg. 1500 is around avg. I don't get cme days in addition to the money or sick days or holiday bonus. folks who work at jobs with unions(hmo's, etc) tend to get the better benefits packages. at my first(union) job I had 12 weeks vacation when I left after 8 years + a week for cme in addition to 1500 dollars. never heard of a car insurance requirement. Moderator ventana Posted May 16, 2012 Moderator Share Posted May 16, 2012 2500 cme PTO of about 7-8 weeks --- holiday, CME, vacation, sick requirement for you to keep a certain level of insurance on your auto is fine as long as they pay for it no other time off is horrible - if you take out 10 holidays and 5 CME days and you are basically getting zero vacation! Ask and see if any of their doc's get the same 'no vacation' benefits this is not a sustainable bennies package
