anyone know how many interview dates are remaining? I applied last year and was offered an interview and was on the waitlist, applied again this year, but haven't heard anything back? I know that applications get tougher every year and I have improved myself in terms of experience and more quality hours out on the field, but it's been a bit of a bummer not hearing anything back at all this time around.

I was fortunate to receive an acceptance, but I do have a question about the attrition rate of the school. It’s a bit over 10% which seems high. Does anyone, either a current student or someone who asked about it, have any knowledge on why past students didn’t make it? Did they leave because PA school was just too much for them, financial issues, or did they fail out, etc.

I was wondering the same thing!

I was looking at the NYIT Annual program assessment report, June 2017 and it says the attrition rate of the CO(2018) is 6 as compared to 8 for (CO 2016) and 7(CO 2017). That being said, the 2019 CO has a rate of 10(out of 55), and it says the program has plans to evaluate other possible causes for the increase in attrition,(https://www.nyit.edu/files/planning/PLAN_PlansReportsSoHP_PhysicianAssistantStudiesMS_AssessmentReport_AY1617.pdf ). Looking at the previous years (2016-2018), it looks like there was a steady decrease in the attrition rate but CO 2019 looks like it's an outlier, honestly. Looking at the PANCE pass rate, it's been steadily increasing and at this point, it is at 100%. I honestly think there could be a lot of reasons for the unlikely increase in the attrition rate, some may even be personal in nature. However, I am encouraged with the program's steady increase in the PANCE passrate and where it is right now. I think this is a fantastic program, from all that I have heard and witnessed for myself. I feel really encouraged that, it's a good place to invest in my education. Someone mentioned something about the program length as well having something to do with this increase in the rate, since most of the program's

I was waitlisted, but I was wondering if anyone received an email saying they're on a ranked list, since it sounds like they sent out two different waitlist emails last year?

I received the waitlist email a few weeks ago. I just recieved my acceptance email off the waitlist yesterday but I will be declining as I have enrolled elsewhere. Hope this helps!!

New member here, have been lurking in the forums for a little while now. Was also shocked to hear about the high attrition rate for NYIT PA program. I heard about a rumor that a senior PA student was expelled right before graduation because someone in administration didn't like him. Also makes for a more risky investment for Pre-PA students to consider attending this program. They apparently keep illegal records of students according to https://fatvox.com/latest-twist-to-nycom-expulsion-scandal-secret-medical-student-files/
