2018-2019 Application Cycle

Hey everyone,

CASPA was verified on 6/5 and I submitted the supplemental on 6/11. Based on previous years and the info session, it sounds like they'll outright reject people soon after being verified and before they submit the supplemental if they don't meet the requirements, so getting to this stage is already a good sign. Looks like it'll be radio silence until after August 1st and they'll send out invites starting in September. It sounds like mid-June was still REALLY early to have everything in for most programs, so it sounds like we're all in good shape, now it's just the painful waiting game. Good luck to everybody!

How many words were everyone's supplemental application essays? I know the limit is 500 words, but would it be frowned upon if most of mine were 200-300 words? I don't want to add in 'fluff' just to get closer to the word count, but I'm also not sure if it looks bad to have them be shorter. Thanks!

Each of mine was 400-500 words but that was to cover everything I wanted to say. I would think it would be better to have less words than to add fluff to have a longer essay.

Just the confirmation that I submitted the supplemental application and fee.

Last year that was the only type of confirmation I got and then got an email with an interview invite the middle of October.  I do know from looking at the previously year thread that some individuals were extended interview invites the end of August or early September last year.

Forgot about the difference in time zones and accidentally submitted my supplemental application 57 minutes into August 2 in Minnesota's time zone. There's no way I'll be considered, right? Just want to confirm my worst fears.

The deadline was August 1st so it had to be submitted by 12:01 am on August 1st I believe. Sorry. ?

Contacted them yesterday they said

"Hello,

Just following up on our phone conversation earlier. At this point we're still in the review process, so there is no more news than that. Our first round of interviews will be at the end of September. There will be a second round of interviews later, so communications about an interview could be coming until as late as early December. "

So hopefully we will get emails within the next week or so.
