No, I'm flying in from Colorado! I'll be in Friday morning. Are you?

Oh awesome! I live about an hour and a half south from Forest Grove but I’m very familiar with the Portland area. I’m trying to get work off that Friday so I can go up there Friday as well. If I do I’d love to meet up with you and anyone else interviewing that day! Feel free to ask me any questions about the area if you have any ? congrats on the interview!

I am curious if anyone has received an acceptance call/email yet? Seems like they have sent out emails to people who are on committee hold, but has anyone heard back with an acceptance?

You have great experience! Keep applying! Pacific focuses heavily on GPA- more specifically the last 45 credits. Good luck to you!

Does anybody know if interviews are still going out for the December interview? I noticed some rejections went out today, so I am wondering if there is still hope for some. Or if there is possibly another interview date that was added.

Hey guys - For those who just received rejection emails, when was your application marked complete by Pacific? Keep going, my friends and I hope there is good news for everyone on the horizon.

I am in the same boat as you. My friend was denied today, but I still haven't heard anything. Hopefully we will receive an invitation very soon, but I suspect that we are on a waitlist to interview in case people deny the interview invite.

So, just to add some perspective, I interview when I can for Pacific's program, which has been four years since my graduation in 2012.  Here's my take on how things are, based on my interviewing folks on October 20th.  No spoilers, no secrets will be disclosed, and CERTAINLY not any applicant info, but here goes...

1) Oh my goodness! There are like triple the number applications vs. when I was admitted (2009-2010 cycle), and only about 1/3 more seats than we had.  The program has grown numerically far less than it has in desirability, apparently.

2) Everyone had astounding GPAs. I would likely not have gotten an interview in this cohort, and I felt the same thing when I interviewed in 2016 as well.

3) Every single candidate was professional, interviewed well, and I would be happy to precept any one of them and call them my colleagues eventually.

It's a tragedy of riches, really, because there are SO MANY excellent candidates, not just on paper but personable folks with good poise, thoughtful responses to questions.  The questions at this point aren't so much "in" or "out" but rather "In what order shall we rank this treasure trove of thoughtful prospective PAs, who have worked hard for years to get here?"

If you didn't get an interview invite, I'm sorry.  Like I said, I probably wouldn't have this year either.

I'm still waiting. At the advice of some of the doctors I worked with, I went ahead and called today. Leah said they still have applications in process, and that the last we could hear from them will likely be the end of November. Again, that's at the latest.

Good luck to everyone!

I’ve already been gathering my PCE/HCE by volunteering as an EMT, working as a Scribe, and working as a DSP at a home for people with head injuries. So, volunteering at an animal shelter would simply just be my “giving back to the community” addition to my application. I love animals so this would be really satisfying for me to do in my spare time, when I’m not working with humans lol. Would schools look at this at all, or is it just a waste of my time that I should be spending working at a soup kitchen or something? I understand that a soup kitchen would probably be better and I plan on doing something like that once covid is over but for now my friend is starting up her own animal shelter and I would love for this to count for my application and make me look better to schools.

Hi I was wondering if I should include grants such as the Pell Grant or Texas Excellence Grant as a part of achievements in the CASPA application? It is not necessarily a scholarship, I believe it can be included as an award. Has anyone ever done so?

Hi! Does anyone know of any programs that once required the GRE and are now no longer requiring it this year due to COVID? I wanted to apply to a few more schools but haven’t taken the GRE. Thanks!

So I am currently trying to figure out my credits and classes for the applications but I am having a lot of trouble matching courses. My college was a private college that went by trimesters. My classes were 3 credits each and they did not offer general biology. Instead the sequence went Zoology, Cellular Biology, and Botany and they were 3 credits each. So, if a program requires 4 credits of General Biology, does this mean that those three classes will not satisfy the requirement? Will I have to retake the classes somewhere else then?

Hello everyone! I thought I would start a thread for this cycle. Waiting for my transcripts to be received by caspa and then I plan on submitting.
