Is it worth attending AAPA conference just for the career fair?

I'll be graduating just a few days before the conference begins and am attending a program on the opposite side of the country from where I'm hoping to practice. I've received job offers from preceptors, but have zero interest in staying in the area. Is it worth trekking to New Orleans for a few days and paying the registration fee just to do some networking and talk to recruiters? Total expenses (conference + flights + acommodation) would be @ $600

Probably not.  Better to spend that money traveling to where you want to practice.

Job fairs usually full of big national groups you can easily find online.

I went to one while I was a student, wasn't worth it. Just apply online using the states PA website, hospital websites, and linkedin/monster/indeed/craigslist.
