PaPepper
What is the lowest GPA acceptance have you gotten or heard of? Has anyone (or yourself) you know gotten in with a GPA lower than 3.0? If so, what stood them (or you) out than others?
LadyNichiavelli
The lowest I've heard is a 2.57, granted this was 14 years ago.
Anachronist
The lowest I encountered while doing interviews was a 3.2 cumulative. But their science GPA was a 4.0. If I remember right, they failed/did poorly in some non science and non major classes their freshman and sophomore years, so their cumulative GPA wasn't really representative of their academic competence. During my interviews at least, 4.0 wasn't uncommon, 3.5+ was very common, with <3.5 making up the lowest 10-20%. A lot of programs publish the mean and sometimes the max and min of the preceding year's class on their websites. Sometimes that includes a minimum GPA to be considered for acceptance, of the ones I remember seeing they were 3.0.
