Okay so I need some advice. I graduated from Purdue University in December 2016. My degree was health science, so I took all of the prereqs during undergrad. I took a year off to work as a medical assistant and plan on applying this upcoming 2018 cycle. However, after one of my shadowing experiences, it was advised that I should retake my Anatomy and Physiology course. I took the class at Purdue as a two semester class: Anatomy and Physiology I and Anatomy and Physiology II. I got an A in the first semester and a C in the second semester. I would like to retake the course to increase my chances. However, my question is this. My community college offers the course, but it does not start until June 5 and I want to submit my application in mid May. Would it be better to retake the class online at UNE, and use my Purdue pre-req but prove to them that I can do well, or would it be more beneficial to take the Advanced Physiology class at my CC but not have it finished when I submit my application? Or do I forget about it entirely and not retake it. As far as prereqs that is my only C.  If that makes any sense at all.

A little background:

Cummulative GPA: 3.54

Science GPA: 3.58 (if I calculated it right)

HCE~2000 as a medical assistant in an Urgent Care

Hi ! Melissa Gutierrez -Perez MPAS, PA-C.

Personal opinion is to forget about it, you have a good GPA , and good HCE hours. Now be prepared for them to ask why you got that C.

I myself had once C in chemistry before I applied , I was in the same boat but didn't want to prolong my application. So i decided to keep it. My C was in the first semester of undergrad, and in all honesty i was taking 3 sciences , 3 labs and working 2 jobs to put me through school , therefore I struggled .I  barely was getting used to the college work load and trying to figure my study habits out, after that C i didn't have any other C's and did extremely well.

You are human they don't expect perfection , they want a well rounded individual.

for any other tips email me and follow my blog : melissa-gutierrez.simplesite.com

best of luck.

Again I wouldn’t be super worried. If you really want to retake it then just do the A&P II at your CC. Make sure you do well, and just list it in CASPA as an in progress class. You can update it once you finish the class.

      Hello everyone!
I was wondering if anyone knew how CBU calculated their prerequisite GPA? Do they do it on their own? Do they take your highest course if you’ve repeated a pre req?

If anyone has any info it is greatly appreciated!

      Hi everyone,
I'm currently a sophomore in my undergrad and I plan on applying for the 2022-2023 cycle, at the end of my junior year. I'm working on my application slowly throughout the year so I'm ready to submit early in the cycle (mid-May) and get a head start for programs with rolling admissions.
However, my university won't release my second semester junior year official transcript until mid-June. That means if I submit my application mid-May, I'd only be submitting my official grades up until my first semester of junior year of college. Should I wait for my official transcript to be ready and submit mid-June, or should I go ahead and submit mid-May and update CASPA once my second semester grades are ready?
I'm so torn on what to do. I'm afraid if I only have 5 semesters worth of grades on my transcript, I will be seen as a weak applicant. On the other hand, I'm afraid if i don't submit early I'll potentially lose some interviews. I know once I submit my official transcript, the grades I update won't count towards my GPA, but I'm not worried about that because I'll most likely have around a 3.75 gpa regardless.
      Any advice is appreciated!

Hi everyone! I’m looking to take on some more pre-PA students who need help with CASPA review, personal statement brainstorming/editing and interview prep.
I’m 4.5 years out of PA school with experience in NYC and Baltimore and am a former interview committee member!

Hello! I thought I would get the forum for the SIU application started!
Has anyone had trouble filling out the supplemental application? There is no option to choose "Summer 2022".
