The biochem course at Doane is amazing. Most well put together class I've ever taken.

Honestly, no. You don’t really need to have solid ochem knowledge. I took both of my ochems in 2015 and I didn’t really have much issue in understanding the reaction pathways. You just have to know th

The only exam is a final. Everything else is completing assignments. So it is very doable to get an A while at the same time truly learning the material.

Yes, 3__ level classes, but if you have any doubt you really need to check with the registrar or admissions team at your school(s), and get approval in writing. Don't spend $2k to find out it doesn't really count.

You can use Interlibrary Loan if you're in good standing with any library, or you can download a PDF of the previous version. It's off by a chapter or so.

I strongly suggest you start a GroupMe with your class using the discussion board. Having help from your peers will benefit all of you immensely as you tackle this time-intensive course.

I haven't taken it at Doane, and you shouldn't either.

The ONLY reason to take Doane classes is b/c they have science pre-reqs for science majors, and you're going to pay through your nose for them.

Take Medical Terminology as an online class from any community college that offers it and save $1,500+. I took mine through McLennan Community College; the online platform has a 2 week trial with book included; I completed it in 9 days at the beginning of the semester and moved on with my life. I highly recommend doing the same. (You're going to need a refresher before school starts anyway unless you're working as a CMA, EMT, or scribe; my school tells us to take this free one.)

Anyone knows does the transcript shows it's online class?

Uh...I'm pretty sure anyone in the PA world knows of Doane offering primarily online coursework to pre-PA/pre-med level students.

Has anyone taken Organic Chem I and II at doane. I have seen mixed reviews of the class offered at UNE and was wondering which one is better. I took orgo I this past semester and completely bombed the course and wanted to retake it. Any advice would be appreciated since I am at a stump

I just signed up for Org Chem I at Doane to start in January (also signed up for Bio 215 Human Anatomy & Physiology I). I also tried taking another org chem class at UC Berkeley online last semester and did not even finish it, I found it quite difficult. I'm hoping I will have better luck at Doane. So far, most of the people here have very good reviews about Doane so I'm hoping that will be it for me! wish me luck!!

      Hello all!
I am sure there are already several similar topics already on here, but I am struggling to find them. I am wondering if anyone has compiled a list of schools that do or do not accept online anatomy and physiology courses if taken during quarantine. I have checked the websites of several schools that make no statements on how their prereq requirements have been altered in response to the pandemic. If anyone has any recommendations I would be very grateful.
      Thank you!!

      Hi,

Just signed up for this forum.

I am currently a senior in my undergrad, I finish in the Summer 2021. My current cumulative gpa is 3.09 which is very low and for my science courses these are the grades I have made:
      General Chem 1 & 2: B
      Biology 1 : B
      Biology 2: C
      Orgo 1: C
      Orgo 2: F(first time), C (2nd time)
      Physics 1 & 2: A
      Genetics: B-
Microbiology: D, I am going to retake.

I am taking Biochemistry 1 this spring 2021 and other upper-division biology courses where I hope to make As in.

I would like advice on what I should do to increase my gpa.  Should I enroll in a post-bacc program while getting PCE (through volunteering/shadowing or getting a job at an urgent care or hospital) or should retake the classes I received a C or below in, then start prepping to take the GRE and going through the application process. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

Hey, everybody! Fairly new here. I’ve been scrolling through other threads on this site regarding recommended online schools for prerequisite courses. A few of the threads are extremely helpful but several years old, so I wanted to start a more contemporary thread in case online school qualities have changed or there are any new ones.
I’m looking to take biochemistry and anatomy online. Ideally a low price would be great, but a self-paced online course is most important to me considering my current career and associated time restrictions.
I’ve been looking heavily at UNE for both courses but have heard mixed reviews. Any recommendations or suggestions based on your experiences, for UNE or others?
      Thank you so much!
      Becca

      Hello all!
Has anyone taken Pharmacology online at Doane? I'm exploring my options, but leaning more towards Doane University at the moment. ANY type of feedback regarding the course or other schools ya'll may have completed it at would be greatly APPRECIATED!
Thank you so much in advance

      Hey everyone!

I was recently accepted into a program for fall of 2020. BIOCHEM was not a prerequisite, but I have been currently retaking the class in case I had to re apply. My acceptance is conditional based on having an up to date physical and that is It (I already submitted the physical). My question is, is It worth finishing up this class strong? Or should I stop putting effort into the class and relax until my program starts? I’m not sure what to do & don’t want to waste time studying if I do not have to! Thanks !!
