PA8394
I would be working with kids with autism and helping them gain life skills through applied behavioral analysis. I will either be working in an autism treatment center, at a school, or at the client's home. My question: does this count as direct patient experience? I've called a couple of PA schools to ask this question and tried to do some digging, but received only vague answers, so now I'm asking y'all to see if anyone has experience with/knowledge about this. Thank you!
panglossian
Instead of asking PAs, start asking programs you're interested in applying to. Send them an email with the job description attached. Go directly to the people who will be judging if your position is PCE!
PA-SGuy
Agree with the above, each program may interpret the duties differently so you will have to email each school you are interested in to see if it counts, unfortunately. A lot of programs will post what they accept as well on their websites
