Professor
Does anyone here work for the state prison system? Looks like a good job, $120k 40 hour work with pension. Does it take a long time to get hired?
Cideous
Takes a certain kind of person to put up with the day to day there. I have an acquaintance that worked there for 10 years. Granted, she was female, but she finally left after being contacted by several inmates "after" they got out. She began to feel very unsafe. Remember, a lot of these people eventually get out....and many hold grudges. So if you are single and interested in something exciting and new then it might be worth a look, and the pension is good. I decided to pass on an opportunity where I am simply because I did not want to worry about pissing someone off inside and having to meet them on the outside.
Almortega
I'm sure it's a very safe job. I'm planning to possibly work there as it is a shoe in for the NHSC loan repayment
Sticks
Has anyone worked in Telemedicine for the California State Prison system? Sounds like a decent gig. Manageable patient load as well as a state retirement. And, you don't actually work in a prison.
