Application status inquiry

Hi, good morning.

I am really new to this forum and the PA world. Just have a quick question. 

I applied late in the cycle due to some personal reasons but the school contacted me on 12/20/17 telling me it’s in review with the board. Now the question is should I contact them asking what the status or no? 

Also what was the average time people waited on for schools to get back to you for a interview?

Personally, I wouldn't contact any schools after you submitted the application- especially if you got confirmation they are reviewing it. That's better than some schools. Lol just play the waiting game for now- i know, easier said than done. But the average wait time depends. I applied super early in the cycle and heard back for an interview in the beginning of July, which is super early. I would say average is a couple months or so. It really depends on the school and when you apply in the cycle. Goodluck!

The wait times are highly variable. Mine varied from one week to two months, but I've definitely heard of later invites. I know it's hard, but don't contact them. They're already going through your app. In the mean time, give your application more padding in case (hopefully not) you have to reapply.

@apatel12 You will have better luck finding the answers in the Physician Assistant Schools forum section. You can go directly to the school you applied to and check out what others who applied to that specific section went through. 

I will echo what others above me suggested. Don't contact the school with your status update.
