katwilf Posted November 16, 2017 Hey, I am trying to become a PA because I want to do international missions, but I don't know what being a certified PA looks like overseas( incountries other than first world countries). Would it look like being more of a doctor? what are the pros and cons to becoming a PA and working overseas? would it be better to go Med school? Thank you in advance.
Anachronist Posted November 20, 2017 Contacting "Doctors Without Borders" might be a good place to start for general information (according to their website though, they do not take PAs themselves due to the "contexts of countries in which we work"), it is likely to vary considerably based on what country and even what organization you are working with. As far as I understand the PA profession only really exists in a handful of very developed countries. http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/who-we-need
