illini16
I have recently been accepted to both Midwestern University and Rosalind Franklin. I liked both schools very much and am having a hard time making a decision. Both schools are tied in rankings and both are newer with nice facilities and resources. I was wondering if anyone had any input on information that may make my decision easier. Specifically, does anyone know anything about school reputations, job opportunities, career preparation, etc? Any help is appreciated!
PACrankset
Well it seems as though you are doing the comparison thing pretty well. Both schools are associated with medical schools, one DO and one MD. I would think that Rosalind Franklin maybe offers a little bit better urban rotation experience. I know that when I applied to Rosalind Franklin last year I had heard really positive things about their program and their facilities are very good. I wouldn't worry about the rankings at all, they really don't mean anything in terms of career opportunities. I would think about which school you felt better at on interview day, which one did you have better interactions with the students and faculty at? Although they are both in the Chicagoland area, it might be worth it to think about what area you would rather live in as well.
semblance
Hey I have an interview coming up for Midwestern (Downers Grove, IL campus) and Rosalind Franklin. It would be great if I could hear more about why people chose which program. Thanks!
