Should I worry about that "D" in Calculus?

Recommended Posts

Like so many freshmen, I partied too much and studied too little. Ended up with a F in Calculus but took it again my sophomore year and got a D. UGH. I just don't get Calculus.

Anyway, 13 years later, I am working hard to apply for PA school. Here are my stats. Should I worry about trying to mess with Calculus again?

undergradGPA: 3.275

postgradGPA: 3.4

projectedGPA (at end of prereqs): 3.51

scienceGPA (projected): 3.46

otherscienceGPA (nonprereqs): 3.4

GRE: not taken yet

HCE: currently, 3,700 hours; hopefully, close to 5,000 by application time

Volunteer hours: ~ 1,200 hours

I should add that I did take College Algebra later and got an A. So the math requirement isn't a problem; none of the schools to which I'm applying require Calc. And my postbacc GPA is 4.0.

I think you'll be OK. My academic record/timeline is similar to yours and I interviewed at "top 10" programs. Good luck.
