RHC81
Like so many freshmen, I partied too much and studied too little. Ended up with a F in Calculus but took it again my sophomore year and got a D. UGH. I just don't get Calculus. Anyway, 13 years later, I am working hard to apply for PA school. Here are my stats. Should I worry about trying to mess with Calculus again? undergradGPA: 3.275 postgradGPA: 3.4 projectedGPA (at end of prereqs): 3.51 scienceGPA (projected): 3.46 otherscienceGPA (nonprereqs): 3.4 GRE: not taken yet HCE: currently, 3,700 hours; hopefully, close to 5,000 by application time Volunteer hours: ~ 1,200 hours I should add that I did take College Algebra later and got an A. So the math requirement isn't a problem; none of the schools to which I'm applying require Calc. And my postbacc GPA is 4.0.
cinntsp
One bad grade won't stop you. Just make sure your app is solid with a good PS, good LORs, and do well on the GRE.
greenmood
Shrug it off. You've moved on. :)
Administrator rev ronin Posted February 19, 2012 Administrator Share Posted February 19, 2012 Yep, I have a couple of F's from Incompletes that never ended up being finished. Your GPA is similar to mine and HCE is better. You've met the minimums for many places--after that, it's all about the LORs, PS, etc.

My academic record/timeline is similar to yours and I interviewed at "top 10" programs. Good luck.
mackjacks
Got into PA school with a C- in calc, so I think you're okay! :)
coolbreeze
I think you will be fine! Just make sure your PS and LORs are amazing! If in case they do bring it up at the interview ( which I highly doubt) tell them about your other coursework and your experience. Good luck! :)
