shawn9811
I have already graduated with a BS and a semi-low gpa of 2.96. I will be retaking a few classes with low grades at the university I graduated from. I am curious if I should also go back and retake a few classes from my community college that I did bad in. These classes are about 3 years old.
crystaltide
If they are science classes that are relevant to PA school, then potentially. What is your science GPA currently?
shawn9811
My science GPA is 3.03. I will be re-taking Orgo 1 and Biochem (C's). The community college class in question is a 5 credit math class that I ended up with a D in, got sick and missed withdrawal date. Another C.C class retake might be gen chem 2 (CB)
Canas
Didn't he already graduate though? I mean could they still take the D away even if he already graduated with a Bachelor's degree? I'm just curious because I had a very similar situation.
Lemon Bars
You can still get bad grades off your transcript after you graduate if you petition and go through the process. You'll need that doctor's note or they will probably reject the petition, though.
Elmers
I am in the same situation, I have a D in my General Chemistry class and I am about to graduate, but I did not know that there is a policy against retaking a class after you graduate with a Bachelors. Does this mean you can't retake the class? Or does it mean grade after you retake will not replace the lower grade?
greenmood
Ask your school. There's no way someone on here can know how specific policies at your school may differ from our own experience, and if you have an academic advisor he/she may be able to help you out anyway. Canas
My post should have said "I have a very similar situation." Not "had"

They were suggesting to petition to have the grade removed based on the OP being sick at the time. CASPA will show all attempts and calculate them into your GPA. Even though the bad grade is still there, it looks good that you retook it and did much better.
Elmers
Oh, I see. Thanks for clearing it up!
IdahoPA
Whoever said to ask your school gave great advice. I asked my school after I graduated and they said no. (Their logic being that I should have petitioned or whatever well before then. And perhaps they are correct.) You can always retake classes. If you take them at your university are they going to replace the ones on your CC transcript? No, of course not. But both will be on CASPA so the improvement will be noted. Question: what are you going to do differently to ensure that you aren't going to get low grades again? Don't answer here, because it doesn't really matter to me, but it's something you should be considering.
