ERPA12345
I recently started my pediatrics rotation and have found that the providers are very busy and don't really have time to teach or even let me see patients on my own. The only chance to see patients is at the same day clinic which I'm only scheduled for on two 1/2 days per week (about 15 patients are seen & are split up between 2 interns, a resident, and 2 attendings) It has been hard to stay engaged when I spend the whole day shadowing instead of interacting with the patients myself. Has anyone had an experience similar to this? If so, do you have any suggestions on how I can get the most out of this rotation? Also, are there requirements that our clinical sites need to meet in terms of how many patient encounters the student gets during the rotation? Thanks in advance! MT2PA
You need to talk to your program. End of story.
