Fellowship after practice

I have been working in an emergency room for about four years. I have actually been considering trying to do one of the fellowships for EM to improve my skills and competency. I do see some sick patients, but feel that I lack knowledge and experience in critical care and procedures.

Being out of school for four years and with a family, I know it seems crazy to consider the paycut. Does anyone know where PA's generally cap on hourly rates? I just wonder about that to help me justify the temporary pay cut. I would, of course, hope I would cap out higher with such focused training. Any input is helpful. Thanks.
