Virginia: Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences (Mary Baldwin University)

Recommended Posts

I didn't see this, so I figured I would get it started.

I just got an e-mail inviting me for an interview on Friday, June 23rd! Anyone else applying/interviewing with Mary Baldwin?

Any current students have any insight on the program?

Hi Wellness! Congrats on getting an interview!!! I was accepted last year but, unfortunately, had to take a medical leave of absence. So, I'm looking forward to returning to the program in January! Best of luck and let me know if I can help in any way :-)

Sorry to hear about your situation, vavlp, but I am glad to hear you are able to return! Will you be a first year or second year?

I submitted my app around the same time. Does anyone have any insight as to the average time it takes them to respond back to applicants?

Do you remember how the interview format was? I have heard in another thread that it is usually relaxed, and they genuinely just want to get to know you.

The interview was super relaxed. There is an information session on Murphy Deming, followed by a presentation about the MPAS specifically, then you split into two groups: one group did a tour of the building, while the other group started their two individual interviews. The groups flip flopped after that.

I really think this is a quality program with competent faculty and administration. If anyone has anyone questions, let me know. I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge. :)

I just interviewed on the 23rd as well! It was a great experience. I came out very impressed with the program and their direction.

I'm anxious to hear back. Previous classes heard back as quick as the next Tuesday but also waited as long as two weeks. Hopefully sooner rather than later!

I'm not entirely sure. They said they interview around 110-120 applicants, and there was about 10 applicants at my interview session. My guess is around 10.

I am also anxiously waiting!! The students giving the tour/ what I had heard from last year made it seem like we would hear quickly, fingers crossed that it will be sooner rather than later.

No need to be sorry! I was not denied and it was my first ever interview for PA school. Definitely could have been worse!

I submitted my application on May 8th and received confirmation of my CASPA verification on June 1st. I have not heard anything else since then.

      Hi!

So I am planning to apply to EVMS this summer. I am signed up for the MPA Information Session on June 17th, 2017. Is anyone else attending the info session and/or planning to apply for the class of 2021?

i have recently been introduced to the field of being a physicians assistant and I wanted to gain some experience and insight into the world of being a PA before I jump fully into it. I am a first semester freshman in college and need to start picking classes depending on what I want to be in life. Being a PA sounds so interesting, but I want to see it for myself hands on. please help!! :)

      Hi All!

I am about to graduate from PA school this fall, and have begun looking into the licensing process. I plan to practice in the DC metro area (DC, MD, VA), and was wondering whether any folks living in/around DC have advice about licensing in the DC metro area? In particular, has anyone heard whether there is reciprocity between any of the states in the DC metro area? I'm planning to begin the licensing process for all three states, but to ultimately only submit my licensing application for the specific state in which I get a job. I'd really appreciate any insight you have about licensing/jobs in general in the DC Metro area!

      Thanks!
      Joanna
