I sent that email right away. Just haven't heard anything back since they probably will not see the email until Monday (today).

johnqsample1
I believe they are taking in a little over 80 students. So, there are plenty of spots!

Mbh22
To everyone who has interviewed: what are some questions that threw you off? Besides the typical “why do you want to go here?” “Why do you want to be a PA?” any advice is great advice, thanks!
kg8868
So after interviewing here, I have discovered that they do not offer a medical Spanish course which personally I think that is shocking but moving on... Anyone think that'll be a hindrance in any way? Especially in rotations? I wish current students had a forum for these types of questions lol

I wish current students had a forum for these types of questions lol I'm sure you can pick it up while doing clinical rotations. I've shadowed in the emergency room here at Mission Regional and you'd be surprised how many patients speak English, eventhough it's not there native language. You'll pick it up, I learned fairly quickly. Mainly due to the fact that it is all based on Latin which we should all be familiar with.

I scrambled to come up with an answer and said, "A P.A. can preform brain surgery as long as the Physician is present and gives his approval, so the only limitation is what the supervising physician is willing to allow the P.A. to do under his license." I think that was the right answer, but as of right now it doesn't seem to have sufficed.

I don't believe it will be a issue. Most Spanish speaking patients are understanding and will bring a family member that will speak English. I have also worked at clinics that do provided translators for doctors and PA that don't speak Spanish, but being in the valley is a great opportunity to learn Spanish and understand a different culture. There's several hospitals around the school that they try to rotate through. Private clinics I imagine would be more for family medicine or women's health rotations.
