psych2PA
Good luck to everyone applying here!! Anyone have any idea why they said not to choose biochemistry on the pre requisite match under their program materials section on CASPA? When matching pre-reqs it says (copied and pasted): General or Organic Chemistry, with Labs. Do not include Biochemistry. I got an A in biochemistry.. I feel like its a pretty recommended class generally across all PA programs.. I wonder why they don't want you to list it when on their website under requirements it says " 2 semesters of college chemistry courses".. I wanted to choose biochem as one of my courses. Oh well

Oh well I know that at my undergrad institution, they considered biochem more "molecular bio" than chem (its possible they may have the same train of thought). Maybe you could choose it for your Bio course!
psych2PA
@slamminsammay I guess the way the course is geared varies depending on where you take it, at my school it was an upper-level chemistry course (CHM380) and was basically comprised of 90% organic chemistry, so it was definitely a chem course! But I called NYIT and they said pretty much what you said, that sometimes biochem can be considered somewhat of a biology course and they're looking for a straight up chemistry course. Its all good I still met their requirements! Thank you!! :)
EmergencyMedicine
I applied a few weeks ago. still waiting. seems like most schools dont want biochem. just orgo

rosiepoo_unowho
Quick question before I hand everything in: When listing your prereqs for bio, did you include all courses that fall under bio, such as microbio, biochem, etc? I "added" them all because I got As and thought it would look good.. but I should still "add" general bio even though it was my only B, right? Just wondering how in depth I should be getting with listing prereqs, haha. Thank you!
pa17
Do you think its not worth applying if i received a C in Systems Physiology since they require B- or above in prereq?
KateP2020
Did else anyone receive an email today with the subject "Your NYIT application has been submitted"? I was verified back in June, got a confirmation soon after saying it was received by NYIT, and then just got this vague email this morning. jsprague1288
Received the same email about a week ago, I think they are reviewing them now considering they don't use a rolling admissions. Good Luck Everyone!
jsprague1288
I found this on the frequently asked questions "Initial phases of our evaluation will be based on comparisons of academic performance (particularly in the sciences) within a highly competitive pool of applicants." Given this information, what do you think a competitive cGPA and sGPA would be? Thanks for your input.

Probably 3.7 or higher for both

rachelledude
I got the same email as well. But I was going through the 2016-2017 thread and those students started getting interview invites starting in Sept. I wonder why it's so late this year??
