How does interview format work? I heard its one on one interview, group interview, and essay - is that correct? My interview is October 13th, so I just wanted to make sure. Also, is the essay a typical 5 paragraph response or could it be less?

Congrats to all candidates that got accepted!

It's hard to say what kind of response you can give on the essay since we don't see each other's work and you don't see what they are accepting. The best I can tell you is to answer completely. You get one full page, so use it to the best of your ability. I doubt anyone is judging the length or format of your work. Just be organized in your thoughts and answer the question. Paragraphs are just separations of complete thoughts, so it's based on how many parts there are to the question you are given.

Also, don't let the group interview or anything worry you. It's relatively casual. I lucked out and had my one on one before anything else, but I felt pretty comfortable most of the day. I've had interviews where they would purposefully try to make you uncomfortable or stressed out to see how you react (even though it's a completely false judge of character) and it was nothing like that at South.

Thank you so much for the depth responses! This really helps and I look forward to attending the interview and meeting the faculty and staff members! Once again, the explanations really helped! I appreciate it!

Good luck to all the candidates!

To the candidates that interviewed, what factors did you like about the school and overall program? I am looking at the website and I see the program is very personal with low student to faculty ratio.

Does anyone know how many people are already accepted? I believe I am the last interview group of October 13th, so just wondering.

Thank you in advance!

When I first arrived, I liked the campus. Parking is easily accessible. Amenities are close by. The building is nice with plenty of new learning tools. There is a cadaver lab available. The faculty that I spoke to were down to earth and seemed to receive my questions well regarding the program. I was overall the most comfortable in the interview at south compared to every other interview I've been to. The students were all happy to be students there as the 1st cohort. I did not find anything not to like besides the accreditation issue of the university which seems to be nothing to worry about.

Just to give you all an update on this since it is a concern for all of us.

The dean has just informed us that the sale will be finalized by the end of this week. They were waiting on approval by the Department of Education and it has been confirmed. We were told that it should not be an issue at all and the school is very happy with finalizing this sale.

Hope this helps! :)

Has anyone received the enrollment instructions yet? Back in July they said we would get everything this week.

No enrollment instructions yet, but I did receive an email today for starting the financial aid process.

For this who have been accepted, has there been a Facebook group created yet?

I believe so. An email should have been sent to all accepted students on who to contact to join.

Does anyone know how many people have been offered admission thus far? I believe the last interview date was a few days ago... Keeping my fingers crossed that I get pulled from the waitlist - I loved this program!

Does anyone know if people who are rejected - are informed earlier than waitlisted or accepted applicants? Or are all applicants after interview informed on the same day?

I believe all in the interview pool are informed on the same day.

Just got pulled from the waitlist! Interviewed early September!

Yay congrats! I was waitlisted after my interview in late August and I'm really hoping for good news soon!

Got an email from South asking if I wanted to remain on the waitlist. I'm assuming that they're trying to shorten the waitlist so they don't offer a seat to someone who has already been accepted elsewhere.  I think this might mean that the waitlist is rolling.  Good luck to everyone still on the waitlist hoping for that phone call!

Thought I'd start a 2020-2021 pa forum for this cycle. I was verified on 5/14. Good Luck everyone!

Hello, I am having a lot of trouble trying to narrow down schools to apply to. Where I currently live, most of the schools nearby I cannot apply to because of my stats so I am seeking out of state options. I am ending my sophomore year so I still have another year before I can begin applying (and another year to continue to boost my GPA). Any help would be appreciated!
GPA currently: 3.426 ( My last semester has not been added in still and my science GPA would be similar)
I am not taking Ochem 2 or biochem but I have planned/taken genetics, cell bio, microbio, ochem 1, 2 semesters of general bio and 2 semesters of general chem, med term, med ethics, anatomy, physiology, and most other pre-reqs. My main issue is that I have AP credit for statistics that my university accepts for my BS degree but I have noticed that there are some PA schools that do not accept that. I am also extremely involved  and by the time I apply, I will have a high number of service/leadership hours (President of my schools Pre-PA Association, chapter correspondent and philanthropy committee for my sorority, recruitment chair for the universities Relay for Life, and involved in other orgs). I have worked as a nursing assistant at the city's major hospital for over a year and I am seeking another job as a scribe in the ER. I have not begun shadowing yet because of COVID affecting my summer opportunities.
If you have experience in applying or likes/dislikes of literally any schools, I would appreciate it! I am not trying to decide on a school right now, I am simply trying to gain insight on potential schools to apply to since the ones near me are not options (Ohio/Michigan area). I have started a detailed list of schools I have researched, but I am struggling to find realistic options and those that I would be able to apply to.
      Thanks!

Hey good people! I hope you’re all well and healthy during this COVID-19 outbreak. Just wanted to start this early and see your progress on the 2020-21 PA applications!

Hi, I was looking around on google and couldn’t find any direct information, but I was curious if anyone has a comprehensive list of schools that have waived the GRE due to the current situation afflicting our nation? Any information would be great. Thanks!
