jmtam
It's early, but I figured to start a new thread for those applying for the 2017-2018 cycle. I applied to PA school last cycle but will be a first-time applicant this year for Northeastern. What about you guys? rubyk25
For those of you working on the program specific portion of your CASPA application... Does anyone have any thoughts on whether the "personal statement" prompt for Northeastern should be written in a personal narrative format or if it is more appropriate to answer the prompt as an essay question? The character allowance is as much as the CASPA personal statement, so I wasn't sure if it was necessary to write an entirely different personal statement focused on their specific topic or not..
jmtam
I think it's a great prompt. I kept mine more general, talking about all continuums of medicine. Mine is about a page long.
kbraun2
Does everyone applying to northeastern have the 2,000 HCE? I have a high GPA, volunteer hours, etc.. but only 1200 HCE
Jdabrowski
I have over 10K but I have been working fulltime for several years including while in college. I would think other aspects of your application might give you some wiggle room as long as the other 800 are planned?
tx329
Does anyone know if there is a deposit for this program?

ATC13
Hey all, first time applying to this program I applied a few other places last year. I have roughly 13k hours with a master's in sports medicine so hopefully this is the year!

Jdabrowski
There is only one way to find out. If you apply and don't get in at least they could tell you what to improve on.
jmtam
Does anyone know when they start sending out interview invites? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
mamorris093
Hi everyone! I applied to Northeastern as well. I have around 1800 hours in the ED.
Pez
Historically I think interviews don't roll out until October-ish. I have seen from multiple sources that as long as your app is in and verified by the given date, that your app will be reviewed. This means they don't utilize a "first come first served/ rolling admission.
daniherr12
Is it too late to submit???? Idk if its worth spending my money on it and submitting around 15 days prior to deadline date :(
Jdabrowski
It's not rolling admins so you still have time.
sydney.dearmond
If I have accumulated a lot more patient care experience hours since I've submitted my application should I call the school and let them know? Or add it to my application or should I email admissions? Or should I not even bother? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
pbj123
Hi everyone, I just submitted my application today. GPA 3.7 2800 HCE and more volunteer. Fingers Crossed.
EngineerPA
I really wanted to apply here but I only have one clinical reference :( that's something they'd probably notice right?

That's my problem too, I justed asked someone to write me one quickly for Thursday so I can overnight everything, but if they say no then I will most likely not apply. :( Most schools only require one clinical letter, so I wasn't anticipating this road block.

Chrysten
Did anyone else have problems with formatting for the additional essays? No matter which format or browser I used to move the essay into the prompt box, it removed the paragraph spacing and merged the entire essay into one large paragraph. I emailed CASPA twice regarding the issue - they haven't responded yet.

Don't worry about indenting, CASPA doesn't format that correctly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Chrysten
jmtam, did you download a copy of your application that was sent NEU and check the formatting of the additional essay? That's when I noticed that the formatting was changed in my application. -Chrysten
