EMT for medical transport ambulance company - do PA schools count this as HCE?

Recommended Posts

Are you referring to working as an EMT in the role of a cabulance driver? I would think that they would accept it if you were doing interfacility transports (hospital to skilled nursing facility/ hospital to hospital..ect). If you can get 911 experience it really is the best. All of my hours/years counted when I was applying to school and I worked in a busy 911 service and did some interfacility stuff later down the road.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies! I did get in touch with a few schools including duke and wake forest and all said they do accept IFT EMT hours! Just not transporting patients around the hospital which I think is where the confusion might be.
