ryryrere
I am currently taking my EMT Basic but will not be certified until May. Does anyone know if there's any ways I can get medical and even better first hand patient experience (besides shadowing) without any certifications such as EMT or LNA? I'm very open to either paid or volunteer positions. Thanks! Ryan
Just Steve
Any chance you would be willing to discuss becoming a Hospital Corpsman (US Navy) to gain the experience?
chiaroscuro27
Volunteer hours may look great on paper but they won't suffice as medical experience for the most part. That requires some type of certification or on the job training. Keep plugging along with the EMT certification. May is just around the corner. MC99
I volunteer at a fire station currently and you can rack up hours doing that if there is a place near you that does not require a fire cert. You can do 24 hr shifts w/o a problem and then it would look god hwen trying to apply to ED tech/EMT jobs.
