Reserve Medic 1986-88 in Victoria, BC Joined the Regular Force in 1988 - posted to CFB Calgary after training in 1989 until 1995 Posted to 1rst Bn Pricess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in 1994 for UN Croatia deployment as a platoon medic 2002-06 CFB Gagetown, NB - 2 years with 2nd Bn The Royal Canadian Regiment as a company medic, 2 years as the Operations Sgt for the Base Clinic 2003- Kabul, 2004 Port-au-Prince, Haiti 2006-2008 At our military PA school in Borden, Ontario and other locations 2008-Posted here to Victoria...Did Basic and Advanced Diving Medicine training and now do Primary/Urgent Care and Undersea Medicine. Did a short stint on Ellesmere Island (WAY up North) in 09. Current rank of Warrant Officer. During all that time did little jobs here and there as well as our usual lovely training areas. In '94, I humped my backside off all over 29 Palms and Pendleton doing our workups for Croatia (for all the ex-Marines and FMF Navy types) - was somewhat warmer than the other options at home in Feb/Mar. Canadian Forces trained PA 22 years service, began as a Med Tech, worked as first line medic with Sappers, Infantry, and airborne units, served in Bosnia and Afghanistan before being accepted to the CF PA program. Now a Warrant Officer, I am working at unit aid station, most of the work is general practice, emergency medicine, and sports medicine. Pleasure to meet everyone, and look forward to passing ideas.
