tuffnut11
So I am a practicing PA for the last 12 years. I took my second PANRE on 8/12/16 and yes I know 2 weeks is the time it CAN take to get back but the last PANRE and my PANCE only took about a week to get results back so now I'm a basket case. As usual the test was awful and the last two times I passed even after I felt I failed. I have studied for about 8 months with each month getting more and more intense up till test time. I used multiple recourses and sample tests and did awesome... but that test was something else. I felt as dumb as I did when I started PA school and was initially overwhelmed. Any advice.... I guess this is just a way for me to release stress over this stupid process.
GetMeOuttaThisMess
I wonder if some folks overthink this process (not a personal criticism but a general observation)? For example, 13 years ago when I took it I was so perturbed with things in general I made sure to work a late shift in the ED the night before and didn't study a lick. Took the exam with a whatever attitude and continued to increase my score from prior exams. The only time I studied was two years ago and only then for a couple of weeks with whatever the online video review course was (people were commenting then on how much more difficult the exam was and I thought it was pretty much par for the course). I am in no way a rocket scientist. I think common sense goes a long way in these exams and the understanding that left field questions will be thrown in so make an educated guess. Odds are GREATLY in your favor to pass. As noted in another recent thread, if you are in any form of primary care you could probably pass cold turkey. Lauren R
Relax. The day you get the results depends on the day you took the test. Generally the results come back on a Thursday. Usually it is the Thursday after your test, but if you take the test on a Fri, Sat, Sun, the results will basically take two weeks, because there isn't enough week days to process the results. You took yours on a Friday. I suspect you will get the results on the 25th. Don't quote me, but that's what I've noticed. I've also noticed a phenomenon with people who think they've failed. They tend to do surprisingly well. Also statistically speaking, you are much more likely to pass than fail. So relax. It'll take about a week to hear that you passed. Z PA-C
My friend took the PANCE on Friday 8/12 and got her results this morning but PANCE and PANRE are probably graded differently. Hang in there!
AssistantDoctor
I took my PANCE on 8/5. I still don't have my results.
tuffnut11
thanks for all the responses. I know it's silly to worry and yes I worked in ID for 5 years and currently in IM for the last 7. Problem was a lot of my test was peds and ob/gyn..... even most of my cardio and pulm questions were in those ranges. It wasn't necessarily the content as much as the way the questions are worded. I found out that PANRE results are only released on Mondays so mine will be out this Monday. They have to wait the 3 day grievance period. As it stands now I will know on monday assistantdoctor hope you hear soon!
woodsters
I received my PANRE results on a Friday (January 15 of this year). Good luck!
tuffnut11
Thanks to all who replied... I got my results today and I'm in the clear for another 10 years (hopefully take home stay away!). As for release dates Monday is the date they are currently releasing PANRE results. I had gotten an email from NCCPA stating that Mondays are the big go day. Sounds like they may vary it depending on how busy they are with testing during different times of the year... who knows that person could have just responded like that to give some sort of an answer. Thanks again!
