anasara
Hello, I am done with most my prerequisites and in desperate need of a decent, online biochemistry course. Seems one must be matriculated to take this course at a 4 year college? I am in NYC. My cuny school is not allowing me permission to take biochem anywhere because they claim it is not a required course for me to graduate. I have searched endlessly and the only biochem related course I found was the New England Medical Biochemistry but from the description, does not seem like this would be the correct one to take. Thank you in advance and good luck everyone who has applied for this cycle! A
SCHW9076
I took it online at Michigan State University. They have several options/levels you can do.

Boatswain2PA
CUNY won't let you take it as an elective, or even an "extra" class? They probably want you to take SOC 404: Advanced Marxist Theories or something instead...

anasara
I took this course through University of New England. online.une.edu/science-prerequisites/online-medical-biochemistry that was a valid class? It seems like a more medical approach but that should be great. Did the schools you applied to accept it without hesitation? Thanks so much
anasara
I took this course through University of New England. online.une.edu/science-prerequisites/online-medical-biochemistry Apparently I have finished all these "extra" classes you're talking about and there is no room for me to take it so they denied me the e-permit (this is a request to take it at a different cuny since my cuny no longer offers it). I went to my school and was unable to do anything about this. The science department was outraged and called Registrar but they said these are the rules. So I am losing a year and I am not young anymore. Very distressing.
lddelellis
I am currently taking Biochem through UNE. I know the majority of schools accept this. It is a self-paced course that you have 16 weeks to complete but can complete sooner than that. Which is good if you are on a time crunch. sillistring
I took it through the University of South Florida: http://gradaffairs.health.usf.edu/ms_health_science.html Ended up getting a certificate in health sciences by taking enough of their classes. The class wasn't questioned while I was applying and I have been accepted to a program to start next Summer. Good luck!

mrrichards1022
I took it through Doane and although it was expensive, it was worth the price being that I work full time nights. I learned a good bit even thought it was just 8 weeks long. I’m glad I chose to do it through them.

Hello, I am currently trying to take biochemistry at UNE and I saw you took it. Can I ask you few questions about it? I know it was a long time ago but your help means ta lot! 1)Was it easy? Or it was hard and challenging? How was the lectures done? How was the exams? Thank you so much!!! Hope to hear from you :)
buttercakes
I also took it through DOANE and it was awesome. You didnt have to attend classes at a certain time, and it even comes with a lab component. Its only 8 weeks as well. I wouldnt consider myself to be super smart and I got an A in it. Last cycle I had a few interviews and nobody even questioned it. Its a great option!
