For those who interviewed, how was your experience? I have an upcoming interview and I am looking forward to that and seeing Philadelphia!

I LOVED Temple, and am so anxious to hear back. The faculty was so nice, and I found that the interview was structured in a way that they should really get a great feel for who you are as a person as well as a future healthcare practitioner. It was structured and organized for the most part, although I wished they had someone to escort you to each location. You will be responsible for finding the rooms that you are interviewing in, and they can be one of many. My itinerary actually had the wrong room number listed for one of my interviews, so that was a bit stressful. The one-on-one interviews are laid back, they just want to get to know you. I don't quite remember how much they tell you before the interview day, but there is also another part of the day where it is less personal, but it just shows another side of your personality. I left with a very positive impression of the program. You get a chance to speak to current students and get a real feel for the program as well.

I grew up right by Philly, so if you've never been to Philly just a heads up Temple is not located in the best part of the city. Personally, I think it brings more to the program because you will have a better opportunity to work with underserved populations. Temple University Hospital is a great hospital, and it will provide many opportunities.

Thank you so much for your reply! Your response, I found, was very helpful.

I have a handful of friends that are in the city. I am planning to stay with them, and perhaps see how to navigate to DC a la Bolt/Megabus or even the train.

As a sidenote, I also would like to say that my flight to Philly was a great price. Maybe the reason my flight was so affordable ($70 RT from DTW) is due to me coming in Friday evening and leaving super early the day after my interview. From what it seems from my research, one can take public transit to Center City from the airport? I had heard from friends that SEPTA isn't incredibly popular, but I would think it connects you to the North Side (Eerie Station on the Broad Street Line)

Do you know, by chance, what they slate as the first day of class for the upcoming cohort? I know last year they mentioned it being "June 2016." I was curious if they had a start date for Summer 2017.

My experience on the interview trail has been very similar to what you described, FamousAmos! I really like the conversations had between current students and faculty/staff. I also was expecting that this year, they were shooting for 50 people in the class?

Good afternoon everyone!

I got an acceptance letter about a week ago and was hoping to connect with some of my future classmates and bounce some ideas off you all. Does anyone know if there is a specific forum or webpage that is currently up and going (other than this) for us to connect on? I have so many questions as I'm sure most of us do about housing, next steps, recommended prep reading etc. If anyone has heard back about these topics I would love to chat.

Best of luck to those interviewing and congrats to those who made it through.

Congrats!! I am not aware of any other places set up for accepted students. I contacted the school and it seems that after putting down the deposit and setting up our TU account, we just have to wait for an email about background checks and health forms.

I have been feverishly searching for housing the last two months and I still haven't decided on a place... but if you have any questions I can attempt to answer them!

Congrats on your acceptance! Just curious, when did you have your interview? I had mine last month, so I'm just trying to get a ballpark as to when I might hear back !

add: i know i'll be making a trip out to Philly in a few months to scope out housing. wasn't sure about neighborhoods yet, but I did get a very brief idea of where I may want to look. I also remember hearing that many students elect for the parking garage option and commute in with that. I am coming from out of state, so I will be attempting to bring my car (we shall see if that works out ha!)

Hey everyone! I also recently got accepted to Temple and am so excited (I first got the letter, then the email)! I was wondering if anyone has received any instructional packets, or more information about next year other than the orientation dates. Woohoo so excited to meet you all and congrats to everyone!

I interviewed 11/14/16 and I got a letter in the mail offering a spot the first week of January followed shortly after by an email.

Hi all,

I'm a first year at Temple right now and figured I would post on here so that any students that have been accepted into the program can reach out to me if they have questions about the program or about Philly in general.

-Jay

Hey Jay!

Thanks for offering up some help. I would love some thoughts about using public transport vs a car (im from california - debating on what approach to take), good areas to look for housing, and any good reading that I can do to prepare for the first year.

If you have time to respond to those thoughts I'd love to chat via email or on the fb page!

Thanks again

-Alex
