MaryFred Posted July 28, 2016 Should pre-PA students join PAEA? I'm not a member, but will join if it's something schools expect of applicants. Thanks.
PACrankset Posted July 28, 2016 I am a pre-pa and I am a member. I did not join because it is something school want you to have, but more because it is a good way to gain information on the current happenings and gets some interesting CME articles. After all this is the organization that will be a big source of education and information throughout your career.
MaryFred Posted July 28, 2016 Author Having just finished my master's degree, volunteering and all of these fees have me a little short on cash! I do believe it would be a wealth of information, but am trying to pay everything upfront without using a credit card!
Statko Posted July 28, 2016 I would pass on PAEA as a pre-PA student. You'll have plenty of "CME" to keep you busy in PA school. :) And personally, it wouldn't affect my view of an applicant's file one way or the other. If you'd like to get involved, check out your state association. It's probably a much cheaper membership and there's more opportunity.
UGoLong Posted July 28, 2016 PAEA is probably more valuable to PA educators. I would consider becoming student members of AAPA, PAFT, and/or your state societies. If you are not yet PA students, some or all of these groups may have a yet-cheaper affiliate status. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
mandrew1 Posted July 28, 2016 Join the AAPA and your State Chapter of the AAPA. No need to join PAEA.
