Do taking vitals require certification?

Does anyone know if you have to be licensed to take patients vitals or blood sugar levels?

Blood sugar with a handheld/finger stick glucometer is usually considered waive testing - no certification necessarily but you do need to be trained to do it properly.  This could vary by state or employer if they have more strict requirements.
