JECPA Posted June 30, 2016 I sat for the PANRE June 24th 2016... Has anyone received exam results this week?
UGoLong Posted July 1, 2016 Not sure how it is now, but grades used to be posted on about the second Thursday after your test date. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
weezianna Posted July 2, 2016 I took the PANRE today (FP) - this is my third recertification. I am curious as to what others' experiences were. I did review/study topics included in the blueprint and used material from a recert review as well as a couple of review books. I think I have a well-rounded background in IM and FP, and have worked in Peds, Women's Health, UC and Cardiology. I consider myself skilled and experienced, but didn't take anything for granted. I found that the PANRE contained little in the way of what the blueprint emphasized. There were maybe one or two questions re: cardiovascular issues, a smattering of GI questions that didn't pertain to diagnosis or treatment, and what I thought were a disproportionate number of pediatric questions, even though this was a FP exam. I did not see that PANRE pertained to much of anything that generalist PAs encounter day to day. I don't know whether I passed or not, but I found the test disappointing. Just wondering what other PAs thought of the PANRE. Thanks!
GetMeOuttaThisMess Posted July 2, 2016 I've wondered for years if you miss certain specialty type questions if the exam algorithm doesn't keep taking you back there. Once you nail two or three correctly it moves on to other specialty areas. Reason I say this is because a couple of years back when I took the NREMT exam in the hopes of moving into FT EMS instruction, I was told that they could tell if you were going to pass after two questions.
Guest Paula Posted July 4, 2016 I passed my second PANRE in April and thought the questions included an over abundance of questions in pediatrics, but maybe I was failing those questions, as GMOTM suggests. There were really odd questions that I detected to be the "false" questions that didn't matter how you answered. I just picked an answer since a few of them I had no clue what the question was really getting at. Once I got my results back I looked over which areas I did really good in and those I didn't. I then shrugged my shoulders, said "oh, well" and went back to work. I can't even remember off the top of my head what those areas were, and am not planning on brushing up on my "deficits" based on the PANRE. It was my last PANRE. Glad it's over.
weezianna Posted July 4, 2016 I felt the same, Paula - an overabundance of pediatric questions, repetitive in many ways. I am also hoping that this will be my last PANRE.
