After a stressful interview cycle, I am fortunate enough to be accepted to both MEDEX Seattle and Rush Chicago. I'm trying to decide which program to attend.
I live in Seattle, my parents/friends can be my support system. In my clinical year, I can move back home to save on rent money when I move to my rotation sites. I love traveling and meeting new people. Attending PA program in Chicago will be such an adventure. Also, Rush's class size is significantly smaller MEDEX's (30 vs 50). My background is in EM and I'm planning to practice in EM after graduation. Due to the higher number of trauma centers around the Chicago area, maybe I have more job opportunities in Chicago?
I am looking for a program with a support system and a family feeling among colleagues and faculties. Please let me know if you have any insight or advice.
To all of the current PA students/graduates out there: What do you wish you considered more when deciding on a PA program? Do you have any regrets choosing your specific PA program and why? For instance, do you wish you focused more on the style of their didactic curriculum, their clinicals, etc?
I would love to hear your thoughts! I think most applicants don't realize the importance of a certain factor until they finally attend a program. I would love to hear advice about what you wish you knew or considered before choosing the right PA program for you!
I am a prospective MBKU applicant eager to apply this cycle (going on my second time now). I noticed nobody had created a thread for this years cycle, so I figured I would! I would like to know all the possible in's and out's of getting into this program and be able to help other do the same. I was waitlisted for an interview in the 2018-2019 cycle so I feel as though I am almost there! If anyone got an interview last cycle, has any advice or any questions, please don't hesitate to post in this thread! I will be doing my best to check daily and respond to posts as I am able. Best of luck everyone!
Hi I was wondering if anyone ever took the Masters in Medical Science program from UNTHSC before applying for PA school?
It's a 1 rigorous program.
I am interested in applying for it to possibly strengthen my application, but I would love some insight from anyone who had taken it too.
