Hi! I'm curious what other people have done in the past/suggest for adding collegiate athletics to CASPA? It was a huge part of my 4 years in college, and I was also a captain so I wanted to include the leadership aspect to my application but I'm not sure how to enter accurately.
If I add being a captain under leadership experience, it requires me to select "Volunteer, Academic, or Paid". I currently have my sport entered under "Memberships" but I'm open to changing it to something different.
Any suggestions/insight you could offer would be great! Thank you in advanced!
Does anyone know how long it usually takes for Professional Transcript Entry to be completed? I paid for the service before finding out that it might be more time saving to do it yourself. I submitted my CASPA on 5/16 and now I'm just an anxious ball of energy waiting for them to enter my courses.
For PCE hours, would you say it is more about gaining experience working with patients (touching them, working with their quirks, understanding bedside manner, etc) or more about gaining knowledge for PA school and your career?
I originally thought scribing would be best - gain lots of knowledge, and was confused why something like physical therapy aide would be an option for PCE (how much do you learn about being a generalist in medicine from that?). But now I am starting to realize that I might have this backwards for many programs - and that they would rather have a PT aide over scribing because of more "hands on" experience working with patients - is that correct?
Of course I'm sure it depends on programs, and having both combined is even better. Any thoughts are helpful, thanks!
