Hey guys I was accepted to the St. Croix campus a few months back. Did anyone start a facebook page by chance? Also, has anyone else had difficulty with contacting admissions?

Thanks!

Hi Guys!

I turned in my CASPA application in August and was invited to interview at Barry (STX campus) in October. I interviewed on 11/18 and heard back 3 days later that I was accepted. I'm currently living in Colorado, so that's gonna be a big move for me, but I am stoked! Loved the people I met and the island was awesome (obviously). I've paid my deposit and am planning to move down there to start school in August 2017. Still trying to convince my wife to move away from her family for a couple years and what better place than to live on an island in the Caribbean, right? I've got another interview set up as a plan B in case she doesn't want to move down there after all, but right now the plan is to be there in July and/or early August. Looking forward to meeting you all!

jwrona, I haven't had any trouble being in contact with Michelle from the PA program. She's helped answer some of my preliminary questions. Congrats on the acceptance!  Do you know when you are planning to move down to the island?

I interviewed in St. Croix on 11/18 and received my acceptance email today!! I am so unbelievably excited and cannot wait to meet my fellow classmates!

Congrats! I interviewed the same day you did! I got my acceptance letter a few days later as well. Now I just have to convince the wife and kiddos to move to a tropical island for a few years. Shouldn't be too difficult... right?

I actually live in Colorado too! Would you want to meet up before the big move?? Also, have you been calling Michelle or emailing her?

Sure! The more people my wife can meet and if we already have some established friends the easier it might be to help her make her decision about moving down there. I live in Grand Junction, CO - where do you live?  I've called Michelle a couple times and got a response that way. I did have some trouble getting her to respond to emails now that I think about it. I'm sure she is slammed with admissions process still in full swing...

Does anyone know if the Miami Campus seats are filled? I am an out of state applicant and if anyone knows, I would appreciate it if they could let me know. Thank you all!

^^  I doubt Miami is full.  I just got the invitation to interview today

I was verified towards the end of July.  Today I got an invitation to interview January 13th

However, I am declining my interview because I am already registered to another PA school for fall

May I ask when you received an email saying your application was under review? Congrats on getting into school!

I spoke to Michelle over the phone yesterday she said they plan on holding at least 4 more interviews through next year for the Miami campus. I know they interview through Feb. Hope this helps!

Does anyone know if the St. Pete campus is full? I just received an invitation to interview in January and am really interested in this school!

I'm not sure if it is full. However, I got accepted at St. Pete and am not going to attend- so there is one extra spot!

Good luck!

For accepted students, how long has it taken you to get the background check and fingerprinting done? The cost of the package itself was $130 and I'm looking at another $20 to just get the fingerprints done. I bought the package yesterday and will have my fingerprints postmarked before the deadline but it won't be reflected I'm assuming until after.

It took about a month for my fingerprints and background check to be completed. I think the website says it can take up to six weeks. As long as they're submitted before the deadline you're okay!

I'm not really sure what the deadline is. I paid for my full deposit 11/28 and then got confirmation my fingerprints were received 12/7. Now I'm just waiting for them to be processed.

Hey y'all!

I'm heading to an interview at the St. Croix campus on Jan. 12th. Super curious... does anyone know if the class is full yet? Or if it's close to full. I feel like I'm late in the game.

Thanks!

MK

Hello all,

Did anyone apply while you were still finishing pre-reqs? My undergrad GPA is 3.6, and so far, my pre-reqs have been all As except for one class. I live really close to the St. Pete campus, and I was thinking to apply with the hopes of being wait listed for this upcoming cycle. Do you think it's a long shot or should I give it a try?

I took the GRE in 2013: 55th percetile, 50th percentile, 85th percentile (writing is a God-given talent!)

Regardless, I plan to apply for the next cycle as well. Any suggestions???

Thanks!

KM

Also, does anyone know if the St. Pete campus is full for this upcoming cycle?

Hi all, new here! Thanks in advance for the help!
I'm under the impression that you aren't supposed to include experience that you received academic credit for in the experience section. If that is the case, why is there a "received academic credit" option to select for experiences?
From my previous healthcare degree, I did a number of internships and a residency program that I received academic credit for but on my transcript, it just says "internship hours" or "practicum hours" and provides no detail about the experience.
Can I list the details of the experiences (as they were electives and unique to me rather than my academic program) and check the "received academic credit" box?
For example, I elected to do an internship in a hospital in China and an integrative medicine residency program at a US hospital, I was credited "hours" from my graduate program, but there is no mention of the experiences on the transcripts. If I don't list them under experience, neither will be visible on my application. Do I just talk about them in my personal statement? What would you do in this situation?
In general, I feel like I could use some guidance navigating CASPA with my unusual background (I have a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) and am lacking access to an advisor . Any recommended resources?
      THANK YOU!!

CASPA failed to process my application before the deadline of October 1. They apparently had an issue processing the COVID—19 Transcript Delay Form. I checked in both through phone and email, and still, they failed to verify prior to the deadline. I submitted all material July.
has anyone else had this issue?

Here is a link to a google sheets that I have created to more easily access information on each of the schools in Florida and the requirement standards for acceptance or preference. All programs were retrieved from Stetson University website: https://www.stetson.edu/artsci/pre-health/physician-assistant.php , and all program details listed on the google sheet were obtained through each programs website URL in the Stetson link provided. I hope this can help anyone who finds it hard to look up this information and compare and contrast each of the programs, as it has for me.
Note: The Prerequisite list does not always include if the lab is required. I have listed Hours next to some courses where permitted, and If the course required a lab I did not always list it, but instead just listed the hours included. Example: Microbiology is a 3hr course for me, So when I see that it is listed as 4hrs, I know that this means a Lab must be taken for that class.
If anyone has any extra questions, Please do let me know, and I will try to answer.
If I have left out anything or made any mistakes, Please let me know and I will fix them ASAP, but I feel that it is accurate at this point, with regards to all sections except the "Average acceptance GPA", as this information was harder for me to find.

I am a PA student in my didactic year and I would like to help out pre-PA's in anyway I can.
I know the CASPA has long opened, but if you need advice for next application cycle, or would like me to look over your CASPA application I would be happy too. I am willing to look over your personal statement as well and give back some extensive feedback for a small fee. I am a full time student struggling with loans. I would be happy to review your personal statement for $25. I can get it back to you in 4 weeks or less. For CASPA reviews, I can do it for $10 or both for $30.
      Some stats about me:
Applied twice, first cycle I received 2 interviews, one waitlisted and one rejected.
Second cycle I received 3 interviews, 1 accepted and 2 waitlists.
      Science GPA: 3.2
      Overall GPA: 3.6
      PCE Hours: 2000+
I majored in Biology with a minor in Spanish.
      Thank you and good luck!

So I am applying for this cycle and I previously entered my job in experiences as current. after submitting the application I had to quit this job because it was a terrible work environment. However, it is in CASPA as current so idk what to do. I also got a new job but it doesn't start for another week and I was going to submit my apps this weekend so i am not sure how to go about this. Also is it better to apply sooner with less PCE or later with more PCE???
