chelseadenee
I know this thread was started in 2013 but now I am having a similar dilemma. I have been accepted to WesternU (Woohoo) and it is my first choice. I have also been accepted to interview at LLU. I wasn't going to go but after talking to more people about it, I am totally torn. On one hand, I already need to submit by deposit for Western, and it feels like a good fit for me. On the other hand, I shouldn't completely dismiss LLU because maybe I would like it more after the interview? I am not religious, and that is the reason I wasn't set on LLU in the first place. What do you all see as the pros and cons between LLU and Western? Should I go to my interview? I know this is a decision I have to make on my own, but I want to know if anyone else is in the same boat. I'm not sure what I should do!
Moderator EMEDPA Posted February 13, 2016 Moderator Share Posted February 13, 2016 pay your deposit to western and go to the LLU interview. if you like LLU better and they offer you a spot, go there. if not, you still have the spot at western. Z PA-C
I'm a current 2nd year LLU student and my best friend happens to be a 2nd year WesternU student. I really can't tell you to go to one program or the other...that decision has to be on you but I would highly recommend at least going to LLU's interview. It really doesn't hurt to attend and see what they have to offer because either way you look at it you're still paying the WesternU deposit. Also, I would not let the religious aspect hold you back. There are plenty of people in the class with varying degrees of spirituality. Heck, we even have complete atheists. Religion is definitely present on campus but they don't force anything down your throat.Either way, congrats on getting into PA school. I strongly believe that both programs are great while still having their subtle differences. You'll be well-prepared to practice as a PA after completing either school.Feel free to message me if you have any specific questions.
chelseadenee
Thank you for the replies, it is very helpful. I think you all are right, no harm in going to the LLU interview! Either way I am going to school, yay!!!
PRheePA
chelseadenee, I second what everyone else has already said! WesternU's deposit is $500, and that may seem like a lot, but if you attend the LLU interview and prefer that program better, that $500 is a small price to pay and shouldn't hinder you for going for that program. In the end, like you've said, you're going to PA school either way, so congratulations to you!
