General surgery/Breast Surgery PA

Recommended Posts

I am currently half way through my clinical rotations. I am remaining open minded, however really found my niche in general surgery- in particular breast surgery. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to stay up to date on current breast surgeries, pre-op, and post-op follow up. My textbooks have been great for anatomy and basic descriptions of diseases but more clinical questions I am having trouble finding information on. For example, descriptions of the surgeries, interpreting pathology, patient follow up post op if maligicancy is found on biopsy, sentinel node bx verses Axillary dissection, etc. Maybe a membership to some of the breast cancer societies to read publications? Any info would be much appreciated.
