gpezzulo
Hello, I'm currently a freshman at Manhattan College with a major of Allied Health Science on the pre-medical track. I'll be transferring to St. John's this fall into the PA program. I did not take chemistry at Manhattan College but I plan on taking it at my local community college this summer. However, I have heard that the chemistry classes are extremely specific and unique to St. John's and the program. Does anyone know if the credits from a community college chemistry class and lab would transfer over and meet the requirements of St. John's? Thanks
er_
(My cc chem credits transferred fine...) By the way: only chem 1 is required for independent students... (not chem 2, orgo, biochem).
gpezzulo
Did your credits transfer because you were transferring to St. John's into the professional phase years? Or did you enter as a graduate student? I'm not really sure what exactly will transfer over since I'm entering as a sophomore this fall.
er_
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but there are no graduate students in this program--just undergrads and certificate-only-students (independents). About 2/3 of my science prereqs were at cc's.
gpezzulo
From what I've learned in an interview at St. John's a few weeks ago, the University typically accepts 10-15 students into the Professional Phase program that already have their BS
er_
I think I've misunderstood what you're asking. I also think I'm not the one who should answer (I'm entering as an independent.) Sorry :)
gpezzulo
Don't worry, you were helpful! Hopefully if I take chem at county my credits will transfer over
Highsierrasmith
If you don't mind me asking, how competitive was it to get into their pre-pa program? I have a few CC credits and am very, very interested in transferring there. I noticed this post was a few years old, how do you like it there? Any advice? lindabose2000
You have to have good GPA if you are planning to transfer as a Pre-Pa. It's a good University.
