Is there any chance?

Hi Everyone! Duke U is my number one choice so I wanted to know my chances in getting into the program. So far here is my stat:

 

General Bio 1 C

A & P 1 A

A & P 2 B

Microbiology- in progress/ re taking it due to some university's 5 years requirement

Biochemistry B

General Chem 1- in progress/ re taking it due to some university's 5 years requirement

General Chem 2 - in progress/ re taking it due to some university's 5 years requirement

Statistics B

 

CUM GPA: Don't know yet... still have one year left till I graduate BA Psychology.

 

HCE: 3 years as a Nursing aide (I don't know how I will translate this to hours), 150 hours as a Phlebotomist, 120 hours of hospital volunteer, PA shadowing (in progress), and flying to the Philippines to serve undeserved area for the entire month.

 

GRE: Planning to take it on September- Hopefully, I will do well because I suck in standardized exams.

 

There you have it...any suggestions/advice? Totally will appreciate any thoughts :)

If you meet Duke's requirements and have strong interpersonal skills you'll probably be fine. Just make sure you have taken all of the required classes. It looks like you have lots of experience which is handy.

"Admission to the Duke PA Program is very competitive. The following information describing recent candidates will allow prospective applicants to realistically assess their chances of admission, and to plan accordingly. For the PA class entering in 2011, 717 CASPA applications were received. Two hundred and thirty-six applicants were interviewed. Eighty applicants accepted the offer of admission for the Fall 2011 entering class. PA class size is typically 80 students per year.The ranges of academic and experiential qualifications for the middle 50 percent of accepted applicants for Fall 2011 were as follows:

• Overall GPA: 3.3 – 3.7
