NewtonsApple Posted July 14, 2011 While I am a little over a year out of graduation, occasionally I will sit down and look for openings if anything to get an idea of regional pay, benefits, etc. I came across this offer which looked very appealing. PA owned EM group operating for 30+ years. The offer looks outstanding... I would move to Vermont. Any thoughts or insight on the group? Further, I suspect they want a seasoned EM PA, however, I plan to attend a residency in EM in the hopes that training will give me a edge as a newbie to get a job like this. Possibility? http://www.healthecareers.com/aapa/job/emergency-medicine-pa/1208084

Moderator ventana Posted July 14, 2011 Moderator have spoken with them in the past - seems like a very good gig - they cover some ER's as well as some ski area's - experienced helpful as you are sole provider many of the time..... I think they are pretty progressive with pay and benefits as well
Moderator EMEDPA Posted July 14, 2011 Moderator this is the job I want when I grow up(or when my wife lets us move to vt). I know one of the owners and several of the staff pa's very well(kargiver here on the forum is one). as far as I am concerned this is the best em pa opportunity in the country.
browndog Posted July 15, 2011 How many hours per month do you think the contract would stipulate for the 105K. Seems like a perfect position....except for the COLD Vermont winters.
